Welcome to the official Patrichory guide to using our Buttercup Solid Hair Mask! We've had a lot of questions concerning the use of the product, so in this blog post, we will go through the steps one by one with simple, easy-to-follow instructions! Step 1
Place one Buttercup Solid Hair mask in a container. Just a small one will do. Get ready a small bowl of boiling hot water for the next step.
Step 2
Fill the container with 4 tablespoons of the hot water. As shown in the picture, not a lot of water is needed for this.
Step 3
Place it in a microwave oven and heat for 10 – 15 seconds, OR place it in a bowl of boiling water to double boil it for about a minute. Either method will work fine!
Once that is done, you'll see that the hair mask would have softened and melted in the hot water.
Step 4
Now it's time to put in some work! Stir for about a minute or so. As the mask starts to cool, it will become more and more creamy.
Step 5
Once it is cool to the touch, you can start to apply it on your hair, away from the scalp and towards the hair ends. It's similar to hair conditioner in that you don't usually don't apply it directly on the scalp, but don't worry if it gets on the scalp, it won't cause any problems.
Step 7
After it is fully applied on your hair, let the mask stay for at least 20 minutes. You can also leave it on longer if you want to, even overnight. It needs time to do its thing, you know?
Yes, I know, that hairdo looks FABULOUS, but just note that you don't have to do it like that once the mask has been applied. You can also wear something like a shower cap or a hair towel if you prefer.
Step 8
And when you're ready, simply rinse off the mask with water! Some people prefer to give it a quick wash with some shampoo. For people with dry hair, it's better to just rinse with water. For those with fine hair, you may opt to shampoo it off. Try it both ways and find your preference!
Extra Note: For longer or thicker hair, you may need more than one piece of the solid hair mask. Just add the equivalent amount of boiling water (2 pieces = 8 tablespoons, 3 pieces = 12 tablespoons) and you're good to go!
